Chef Dominic Henderson was born and raised in New Jersey and educated at New York University where he earned a degree in Biology. After college he moved to New Orleans and was a teacher for a year at the Academy of Our Lady in Marrero before deciding to change direction and work in the kitchen world. He trained in culinary arts at the former French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Center) where he learned classical French savory and pastry techniques. He moved back to New Orleans and worked at NOLA Restaurant and the Grill Room at the Windsor Court Hotel before merging his love of teaching with his love of cooking at Café Hope.
Dominic has been happily married since 2013. They have one daughter, Artemis Rose.
